Traveling for Care: How We Work With Patients From Nine States

All Articles
March 10, 20266 min read

Patients come to our Marlton office from across the Northeast and Midwest. Here is how to make travel-based care practical rather than exhausting.

Complex illness often means outgrowing what is available locally. We see patients from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky — many of whom travel because the specific combination of care they need is not offered near home.

Plan the First Visit as the Anchor

The initial consultation is where the most value is concentrated, so it is worth traveling for. Bring complete records. If you can arrange lab work locally in advance, we will tell you exactly what to have drawn so that results are in hand when you arrive rather than requiring a second trip.

Cluster Appointments Where Possible

  • Schedule consultation and initial infusion on consecutive days rather than separate trips
  • Combine follow-up visits with any imaging or specialist appointments in the area
  • Ask about morning appointments if you are driving from Pennsylvania or New York the same day
  • Coordinate lab draws with your local provider between visits

Coordinating With Local Providers

For patients who travel, an engaged local physician makes everything work better. Routine monitoring, interim lab draws, and prescription management are frequently handled closer to home while we direct the overall protocol. We share documentation with your local team so nobody is working blind.

The goal is not to have you in our waiting room as often as possible. It is to make each visit count enough that you need fewer of them.

What Travels Well and What Does Not

Conditions requiring an intensive infusion series, such as certain chronic Lyme protocols, need more on-site time. Longer-arc management for autoimmune conditions or men's health and hormone care is often workable with less frequent visits. We will tell you which category you fall into before you commit to traveling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which states do you serve patients from?
We care for patients from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky. All care is delivered at our Marlton, New Jersey office.
How often would I need to travel?
It depends on the protocol. Intensive infusion series require more frequent visits; longer-arc management often does not. We will give you a realistic schedule before you commit to traveling.
Can my local doctor handle lab work between visits?
Yes, and that is what we recommend. We specify exactly what to draw and share results interpretation with your local provider so monitoring happens close to home.
