What Is Lyme Disease?
Testing alone will not help you feel better
Lyme Disease is a complex problem that affects everyone differently. Testing alone will not help you to feel better. Even if your test is negative, or you have been treated with antibiotics, you may continue to suffer from long-term symptoms associated with Lyme.
Dr. Molly Fantasia offers more than 30 years of experience in autoimmune disease therapy, pain management solutions, and medical hydration therapy that have helped hundreds of patients to better manage or reduce their chronic symptoms. Our goal is to provide you with the immediate and long-term relief you need, so you can get back to living the life you deserve.
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection you get from the bite of an infected tick. It can often be difficult to diagnose. Traditional medications like antibiotics may help to reduce the bacteria in your body, but often fall short in relieving symptoms that can linger for months, or even years. This chronic condition is called Post-Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome (PTLDS). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention describes PTLDS as an “auto-immune response that causes symptoms that last well after the infection itself is gone.”
Symptoms
Symptoms of Lyme and PTLDS
Symptoms affect everyone differently and may linger for months, or even years.
- Debilitating Fatigue
- Severe Joint Pain
- Headaches or Migraines
- Difficulty Sleeping
- Digestive Issues
Unfortunately, there is no cure for PTLDS. Additionally, NIH studies show that long-term antibiotic use can be associated with serious health complications. Most physicians do not offer relief for side effects or chronic symptoms.
