Costs & Value

What IV Nutritional Therapy Costs — And What You Are Actually Paying For

IV drips range from under a hundred dollars at a lounge to several hundred at a medical practice. The difference is not markup. Here is what sits behind the price.

Patients regularly tell us they saw a drip advertised for $99 down the road and want to know why physician-directed therapy costs more. It is a fair question, and the answer is not that we charge more for the same bag of fluid. It is that the two things are not the same product.

What Goes Into the Price

  • Physician review of your labs, diagnoses, and current medications before anything is ordered
  • A formula built for your clinical situation rather than a fixed menu item
  • Pharmaceutical-grade nutrients at therapeutic concentrations
  • Clinical monitoring during the infusion by trained staff
  • Follow-up labs to confirm the protocol is working and adjust it

The nutrients themselves are a modest share of the cost. What you are paying for is the clinical judgment that determines which nutrients, at what dose, for how long — and the willingness to stop when the data says stop. We covered this distinction in depth in medical IV therapy versus IV lounges.

Why Protocols Differ in Price

A straightforward hydration and micronutrient infusion sits at the lower end. High-dose vitamin C protocols used in integrative cancer support sit considerably higher, because the doses involved are far larger, the sourcing is more specialized, and the monitoring requirements are more intensive. Neither price is arbitrary.

The cheapest infusion is the one that was not clinically necessary. We would rather talk you out of treatment than sell you a series you do not need.

How to Think About Value

The right comparison is not cost per bag. It is cost per outcome. Patients with chronic fatigue, POTS, or post-viral illness have frequently spent years and considerable money on appointments that produced no change. A protocol that restores function is not expensive in that context, and one that does nothing is not cheap at any price.

We also aim to reduce your dependence on infusions over time. If you are still receiving the same protocol at the same frequency a year in with no change in function, something in the plan needs revisiting.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does IV nutritional therapy cost?
It depends on the protocol. Standard hydration and micronutrient infusions cost considerably less than high-dose vitamin C protocols used in cancer support. We provide specific pricing during your complimentary consultation, before treatment begins.
Why is medical IV therapy more expensive than an IV lounge?
You are paying for physician review of your labs and medications, a formula built for your diagnosis, therapeutic dosing, clinical monitoring, and follow-up testing. An IV lounge sells a fixed menu item without that clinical layer.
How many sessions will I need?
That varies by condition and by how you respond. Dr. Fantasia will give you an expected range at the outset and reassess against your labs and symptoms rather than selling a fixed package upfront.
